Womens Health

The natural biorhythms of women’s health lends them to be very receptive to the influences of acupuncture. With Rebecca, the primary focus of women’s health treatments is to find these rhythms, work within them and have them healthy enough to celebrate them! This opens then the possibility of creating a family, healthy pregnancies and births, smooth transitions into menarche and menopause, and prevention of irregularities and pain. Rebecca works closely with midwives, fertility and IVF specialists and gynaecologists to achieve a holistic sense of women’s health.

Mental Health

Chinese medicine’s unique understanding and respect to the influence of mind-body relationship lends it to be one of the most highly effective forms of treatment for mental health. Rebecca’s relationship with psychologists and general practitioners means she is called upon to support many clients through difficult periods of time or ongoing mental health support. Her gentle and nurturing approach gives her treatments a unique level of care for her clients.

Acupuncture (distinctly different to Dry Needling) uses the body’s natural resources to heal and repair damage and injury. Its highly effective approach makes it a valuable resource and is being used in the cities’ major hospitals to control pain. Rebecca’s approach to pain is gentle and compassionate and has a strong referral network from local chiropractic and massage therapists to provide that extra shift in recovery.

What is acupuncture?

Acupuncture is one treatment modality in a system of medicine known as Traditional Chinese Medicine, and remains part of the primary medical system in Asia after thousands of years. The principle behind this ancient medical system is to move “Qi” (energy) that flows throughout the body in specific patterns. When this flow is blocked or disrupted, illness and dysfunction results. The Qi is accessed by the needle itself, gently stimulating and encouraging movement beneath it. Although acupuncture has a unique diagnostic system, the World Health Organisation (WHO) recognises acupuncture as an effective treatment for many health conditions.

What to Expect

It seems counter intuitive, but one of the loveliest side effects of acupuncture is the vitality and relaxation from each session. Rest assured that you will not be left alone during your appointment – Rebecca is attuned and attentive throughout. Each case is treated differently, but a structured care plan is devised from your first session. Some conditions require two to three times per week for fast turn around, or weekly as part of information gathering and ongoing support. The goal is to not have to return too frequently, and Rebecca will ensure she devises a plan and treat you effectively to meet your needs with minimal intervention.
